Job description for Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operations Officer
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing general accounting activities of the company in accordance with GAAP as well as forecasting, budgeting, reporting, strategic planning, decision making, accounting close & treasury activities, clinical accruals, and analytics. The CFO’s work scope is primarily in overseeing the company’s financials, but also includes managing general operations of the company.
The CFO will interact with relevant departments from headquarters (Seoul, South Korea), and also communicate with business partners in the Brazil.
Qualified candidates must have the ability to execute multiple work-streams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain open to new projects and/or responsibilities as the business evolves. Candidates must have strong attention to detail, ability to effectively collaborate with business partners across functions, drive decision making, problem solving, and time management skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with headquarters to deliver necessary reports on a regular basis and to coordinate and execute Group’s financial/operational/strategic initiatives on an as-needed basis
Directly oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partner with the CEO on sales management to budget for sufficient investment capital to achieve growth targets over the near term
Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the company’s president and head quarter management.
Provide leadership, direction and management of finance department, while supervising all financial activities including, but not limited to, accounting, treasury, budgeting, reporting, auditing.
Work closely with president and members of executive management team (At company and headquarters) to make high-level decisions and provide strategic recommendations
Advise on long-term business and financial planning
Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company by analyzing the company’s liabilities, investments, and sales activities
Recruit new employees when necessary and retain new and existing employees
Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed for compliance to relevant laws and regulations (especially compliance with Brazil accounting and financial reporting)
Delegate responsibilities to ensure company is functioning efficiently
Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture, ensuring team members to thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
Minimum qualifications
Employment authorization to legally work in the Brazil (Greencard or Citizenship)
High level of proficiency in Korean and Portuguese
15+ years of experience at a public company
Experience in senior management position
Experience with corporate governance
Desired Skills & Experience
Biotech industry experience highly preferred
CPA qualification preferred
Must possess executive-level communication and influencing skills with the ability to resolve issues, build consensus among groups of diverse internal/external stakeholders, and have proven skill in negotiating and mediating conflict
Proven negotiation skills.
Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
High level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives.
Excellent analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and the ability to communicate with seasoned management.
Strong financial analysis and solid knowledge of managerial accounting
Experience with IT system implementation and corporate planning / FP&A
Systems Experience
Quickbooks, Salesforce, ERP, Microsoft Office, MS Dynamics desired
